Oh dear, I’ve turned into one of those people that writes about something to do with ‘me’. I mean, what is the meaning of a blog and why start one? Why would anyone want to share their thoughts with the world and open themselves to vulnerabilities?
I takes a certain kind of person to be able to do this. I mean, it’s frightening stuff! So why am I doing it? Well, because buying diarires is just not eco-friendly and harms my carbon footprint…
Journalists do this all the time – but their job is to be objective. So editors created the ‘opinion columns’ for journalists that seemingly took the view of the people and would write to their heart’s content.
I know that this blog of mine is going to cause people to react – but that’s the job of this blog. I want reaction. I recently joined Youtube and have posted comments and found it really interesting how people communicate with each other. Some of the comments are also quite rude an wonder about monitoring this kind of offensive behaviour?
In a world of free speech, can we really muzzle those with antagonistic views? So many questions, so many answers and not enough time to finish off my first blog post…
